MOYNAT Baladin

A picture truly is worth a thousand words. Such is this photo by Jimmy Cohrssen for Moynat. The setting, a night market in Tokyo. The subject, a girl is patiently waiting for dumplings to be cooked. Traipsing around one of the busiest and most congested cities in the world is no simple task. No doubt she will enjoy her steaming delicacies in peace, for her hands are free, afforded by her Moynat shoulder bag, the Baladin.

MOYNAT Initial Canvas

In 1920 the Creative Director, Henri Rapin designed the Initial Canvas of the House of MOYNAT. Like so many other malletiers, this serves as the trademark of the brand. The design consists of repeating "M"s in the Art Deco style against a dark pattern of brown and black. At the turn of the century, these were painted onto the canvas that covers the trunks. The re-edition of today's canvas is made of a hand-printed metallic, powdery finish of the same pattern.

MOYNAT Pauline

City bag in mat crocodile Porosus leather.

Named after the pioneering woman who specialized in travel goods and eventually one of the company's founders, Ramesh Nair has interpreted for a new generation the automobile trunks of old. With its curved lines and lack of monogram, what was once a utilitarian shape is now transformed into an elegant bag. Shown here in exotic skin, the Pauline comes in petit modele and grande modele as well as vertical and horizontal. It also has a travel version, the Pauline 24H. www.MOYNAT.com
