I decided to feature the Rejane this weekend, MOYNAT's iconic bag.  What better way to start it off with one that is hand-crafted in precious crocodile skin?

The Réjane clutch is the latest creation of Ramesh Nair, the artistic director of Moynat, as a playful take on the iconic Réjane bag. The delicate curves serve as the perfect “shelter” to fix the shoulder straps. The strap actually passes through the different layers of leather that make up the flap of the bag, perfectly discreet, leaving no trace when the bag is worn as a clutch. It is designed to enable the Moynat woman to create many different ways of wearing it: a chic clutch, a lively version with a long shoulder strap or a more elegant version with an unusual double strap. The Réjane clutch will be launched in late November 2013 exclusively at the Moynat boutique, 348 rue Saint Honoré in Paris. It will be available in black, taupe, raspberry, paprika and petrol blue.

Look how delightful the Initial Canvas has been transformed in these vibrant colours!

La Route de la Couleur : 3 colours inspired by India, marigold yellow, rose pink and turquoise, expressions of the same joy, the same wonder. 

Yellow, for the marigold flower, is present in all Indian ceremonies, including weddings, and is treasured in Ayurveda. Marigold flowers are steeped in water to extract a brilliant yellow-orange colour, which is then used to splash people on “Holi” day, to wish them good fortune. 

Pink is the colour of rose-milk. A childhood favourite of Ramesh, this is a sweet drink made from the extract of rose petals. 

Turquoise, the celestial blue-green mineral found in India, evokes the limpid waters of the Andaman Islands, situated between the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea.

Details, details, details - it's always been about the small details that sets a brand apart. This Pauline in Greige is wonderfully adorned with a contrasting luggage tag that completely changes the look of the bag.

I just love it that Moynat has so many creative designs and fonts to choose from for their personalization service.  It sets them apart from the rest of fashion houses. 

MOYNAT Trunk Show at Galeries Lafayette, Paris

Ahhhh...Summer in Paris! Milder than D.C. but still humid and filled with tourists. The Moynat Trunk Show would have been a welcome oasis.  A menagerie of the House's iconic pieces, I would have loved to touch and coo over them like animals in a petting zoo. 

 Designed by Gwenael Nicolas of Curiosity, he truly captured the essence of an encounter especially for those who do not know what Moynat is all about.
