La Route de la Couleur : 3 colours inspired by India, marigold yellow, rose pink and turquoise, expressions of the same joy, the same wonder. 

Yellow, for the marigold flower, is present in all Indian ceremonies, including weddings, and is treasured in Ayurveda. Marigold flowers are steeped in water to extract a brilliant yellow-orange colour, which is then used to splash people on “Holi” day, to wish them good fortune. 

Pink is the colour of rose-milk. A childhood favourite of Ramesh, this is a sweet drink made from the extract of rose petals. 

Turquoise, the celestial blue-green mineral found in India, evokes the limpid waters of the Andaman Islands, situated between the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea.

One of these days, I would really like to interview Jimmy Cohrssen. He takes the most amazing photos for Moynat.  Pictured here is the Cabas Initial in Carbon as it lazily rests on a plush velveteen chair. It's as if it is pondering what move to take on the chess board.  More importantly, who is the Cabas playing with? 

MOYNAT and Mount Fuji

This is by far my favourite of Jimmy Cohrssen's photos for Moynat.  The mountain at sunrise is the perfect backdrop to photograph not only the lights of nature but those that the Initial canvas itself tries to capture.  With its iridescent "M"s,  you really have to see up close and personal the Moynat canvas to truly appreciate the craftsmanship that went into it.  

MOYNAT joins Fashion's Night Out

Mark the date, folks! On September 6, 2012, Moynat joins Vogue Paris Fashion's Night Out by releasing a limited edition Cabas Initial with yellow trim.

I hope it's not too late to wish everyone a wonderful season.  The Cabas Initial is definitely the perfect tote for summer activities.  I do love how the separately sold luggage tag completed the look. By the way, the tag is completely handmade.
